As a natural procrastinator and planner (oxymoron, I know!), I've been looking into races for 2011. I know, I know!! There is one huge daunting race just a month away, but I can't help but a take break from my running and plan for 2011. Call me a medal hoarder, but it's fun! :) I'm not sure what I'm gonna do w/ all these medals and technical shirts, but I'm sure something creative will come to mind ...
After completing the Disneyland Half and admiring all the Disney Coast-to-Coast medal runners, I decided I'm out to get myself a Coast-to-Coast Medal in 2011! :) In order to qualify for this, a runner must complete one of the series races at Disney World in Orlando and the Disneyland Half in Anaheim - hence Coast-to-Coast :) I was so impressed w/ my overall experience a few weeks ago, I've already committed to do another Disney race - The Disney's Princess Half Marathon! Isn't this just suiting for me? :) haha! Sign me up for the tutu and crown! Orlando here I come!
Aside from the Disney Runner's Series, I've been wanting to complete the California Dreamin' Racing Series. Seems like everyone who considers themselves a runner in California has completed this series, so sign me up! Why not join the cool kids? I can run and beat some of 'em too! :) ... This series includes the Huntington Beach Surf City Marathon/Half, SF Marathon/Half, and Long Beach Marathon/Half. I haven't decided if any of these races will include running the full marathon, but I'm not ruling it out :) ... Each day I pray for good health and strong knees to keep on running!
To top off completing two great racing series ... how about the LA Marathon?! This past year the race took on a new course - "stadium to sea," and I've only heard great things! I can't imagine ever qualifying for the Boston except in my dreams, and would be extremely privileged to get a raffle entry for the NYC, so why not LA? Or how about Chicago? haha! I'm leaning more towards the LA Marathon in March 2011 b/c there is a running team at the church I attend running to raise an awareness for World Vision! After training for the NWM on my own, I'm ready to get a different experience training w/ a running team. This would be a great opportunity and more people to keep me accountable! :)
So in a crazy nutshell, I think I have enough races to get me through the next year!? What do you think? :)
